Bakersfield Memorial Hospital has undergone a vast transformation since its opening in 1956.  Once a small community hospital, BMH is now a regional medical center offering nationally-recognized departments and services.  We're especially proud of our cardiovascular program, the Family Care Center, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and our surgical services in orthopedics, neurosurgery and general surgery.  Today, our 406-bed facility serves patients throughout Kern County and beyond.
