Bakersfield Memorial Hospital

Bakersfield Memorial Hospital today includes over 400 general acute beds; over 45 specialty intensive care or postanesthesia care beds; 10 operating rooms; and a heavily used Emergency Room with a Certified Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center with emergency staff skilled in providing timely assessment of patients with cardiac conditions.  BMH is also home to a Birthing Center with a  full-service NICU; four Cardiac Catheterization labs; a full complement of diagnostic laboratory and imaging services; and outpatient surgery. 

The vision of the community leaders who first conceived of Memorial Hospital has been fulfilled and expanded.  Our new West Tower significantly increased both the hospital's size and sophistication, adding 114 new beds to the facility.  The tower was completed by January 2009 and significantly enhances the service capability of BMH.  We now offer expanded pediatric services, telemetry monitoring for all acute care beds, and a certified stroke center as part of the emergency department.
