In addition to the collegiate sporting teams at California State University Bakersfield and Bakersfield College, the community has its own minor league baseball team (Bakersfield Blaze), professional AA ice hockey team (Bakersfield Condors), professional NBA development league basketball team (Bakersfield Jam), USL development league soccer team (Bakersfield Brigade). In addition, Bakersfield is home to a 40+ acre soccer complex where local, regional and state tournaments are held, plus 46 neighborhood parks nestled throughout the city to practice whatever sport you enjoy.
