With its rich cultural and artistic heritage, Bakersfield offers a wide array of performing, visual and literary art offerings. In addition to the performances at Rabobank Arena and Convention Center, the Bright House Networks Amphitheatre located in the 32 acre Park at Riverwalk adjacent to the Kern River, hosts concerts and events. Theatrical productions, including events such as the annual Shakespeare and Jazz Festivals, are scheduled year-round in the city's many theaters. The Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra has entertained audiences for over 70 years, and works by locally and nationally renowned painters, illustrators, sculptors and graphic artists can be found in numerous public art displays and galleries throughout the city.
